“Remembering the Girls”: HIV in Cis and Transgender Adolescents and Young Adult Women

This event is sponsored by the District of Columbia Center for AIDS Research, Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF).  The symposium seeks to bring together researchers and community partners and members to discuss research gaps in the area of young women and HIV both domestically and internationally, and the collaborations necessary to address these gaps.  A networking lunch will be provided.

Agenda topics include: 

  • Women's biologic and physiologic risks for HIV; 
  • Behavioral and social risks; 
  • Transgender women and HIV; 
  • HIV continuum of care from international and then domestic perspective; 
  • HIV prevention from international and domestic perspective; 
  • Commentary from HIV-affected youth and community members; and 
  • NIH research priorities.
