The Hopkins CFAR is interested in organizing a working lunch session for junior investigators to present and receive feedback on a developing research idea. The structure of the Specific Aims Lighting Round is based on a succesful programs in the Johns Hopkins Division of Neurology and the UCSF CFAR. Evaluations of the session showed that both participants and presenters found the session to be very valuable.
The Specific Aims Lightning Round Session will consist of a round table discussion where a young investigator will present his or her specific aims to a group of 6-8 peers as well as 1-2 senior investigators. The presenter should be prepared to provide a brief background of the grant concept and then should allow the group ~5 minutes to review the specific aims. The group will then discuss the proposal’s strengths and offer feedback for the remainder of the session.
